What do you know about Good Mental Health?
20 September 2006
Prepare to find out more when Mental Health Week commences on Saturday 8 October 2006. Mental Health Week is a celebration of good mental health and also a time when CRS Australia joins with community mental health providers to generate awareness of mental health issues and conditions.
CRS Australia provides vocational rehabilitation services to Australian job seekers with a disability, injury or health condition to assist them to find, get and keep a job.
30% of job seekers referred to CRS Australia have a mental health condition are keen to start looking for work.
People with a mental health condition function successfully in the workplace. 'The right work can generate stability, confidence and independence and is one of the steps in the journey to recovery from mental illness,' said Margaret Carmody, General Manager, CRS Australia.
'Our qualified rehabilitation consultants work with job seekers to develop return-to-work programs where we assess the person’s needs, identify suitable jobs, and develop strategies to overcome barriers in consultation with treating health professionals.'
Mental Health Week will be held this year from Saturday 8 October to Sunday 14 October.
