What is a rehabilitation consultant?
CRS Australia?s rehabilitation consultants are qualified allied health professionals employed to provide high quality vocational rehabilitation services to job seekers and clients with a disability, injury or health condition.

CRS Australia provides case management to job seekers to manage their disability, to minimise the impact of their conditions in the workplace and to gain sustainable employment.
We will provide you with specific training and development activities to ensure you have the necessary skills to effectively case manage job seekers into employment.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, with a high level of autonomy and the support of your manager and colleagues.
Rehabilitation consultants can be involved in a range of services including delivering vocational rehabilitation programmes and Job Capacity Assessments, specialist disability services, injury prevention services, and injury management services.
The role of a rehabilitation consultant includes working with:
- job seekers, individually and in groups, to help them manage the barriers they face in getting work, preparing them for job searching and supporting them once they get a job
- employers to locate job opportunities for CRS Australia job seekers, manage return to work for injured employees, and to provide workplace safety and injury prevention services.
- community groups to keep up-to-date with local training, disability programmes and employment market opportunities.

Rehabilitation consultants employed by CRS Australia need to have tertiary qualifications in one of the following:
- occupational therapy
- physiotherapy
- psychology
- rehabilitation counselling
- social work
- speech pathology
- exercise physiology
or an equivalent qualification in behavioural or health sciences as recognised by an appropriate professional body.
CRS Australia employs two levels of rehabilitation consultants:
- RC Level 1 (equivalent of APS Level 3 - APS Level 5)
- RC Level 2 (equivalent of APS Level 6)
