When CRS Australia first contacted Perth Inflight Catering (PIC) about providing recruitment services for them, neither realised it would be such a great recipe for success.

Since first contact in August 2009, PIC has employed 18 CRS Australia candidates and provided on-the-job training for a further 19 job seekers.

Lin, CRS Australia Employment Services Consultant, worked closely with Salim Hazife, PIC General Manager and Nadia Hazife, PIC Key Accounts Manager, to gain an understanding of their business requirements and match CRS Australia’s services and job seeker profiles accordingly.

This has resulted in a tailored approach to the partnership. PIC is a locally owned company that provide catering to Airlines and Charter operators at the Perth Airport. In 2009, PIC extended their services beyond the aviation industry branching out to accommodate the demand for fresh and ready to eat sandwiches, salads, wraps and rolls for the retail sector. Their services are currently provided to Delaware North, QANTAS Q Catering, Sir Charles Gardiner and Royal Perth Hospital, Burswood Entertainment Complex and many more customers.

The rapid growth of PIC’s new business arm brings many challenges. As with other businesses, one of these challenges is finding good quality, reliable staff.

Nadia explained, ‘Knowing that an organisation like CRS Australia is there to help support us with our staffing requirements has been an invaluable asset to our  business. We no longer need to waste time and energy with traditional methods for recruiting staff.

‘We have found CRS Australia candidates to be well matched, more reliable and motivated to work which has meant it’s a real win for us and the candidates,’ said Ms Hazife.

‘Having a formalised partnership with CRS Australia has been of great benefit to our organisation. Lin really took the time to gain a comprehensive understanding of our business needs and customised her approach to match these needs,’ said Ms Hazife.

PIC won a CRS Australia 2010 WA Employer Award for its outstanding commitment to people with disabilities and a Food Industry Association Award for Best Food Service Product/Achievement.
