Environmental Management

CRS Australia has an Environmental Management System (EMS) and corporate environmental policy in place to promote environmental initiatives. The framework of the EMS is in accordance with ISO 14001 (international specification for an environmental management system) based on the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (DSEWPaC) model.

In addition, the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (1999), section 516(a) requires that the organisation report its environmental impact and mitigation measures in the Annual Report.

Environmental considerations are incorporated into business planning and decision making processes, where reasonable and practicable.

Our environmental policy

CRS Australia is committed to the protection of the environment and recognises its responsibility to the Australian Government and the wider community to minimise the impact of its operations on the environment.

Based on a philosophy of reduce, reuse and recycle we will:

  • use resources efficiently and continue to look at ways to minimise waste, and reduce energy and resources consumption
  • comply with relevant legislation and regulations
  • consider the environmental aspects in the purchase of products and services
  • strive for continual improvement in environmental performance by regularly monitoring and reviewing our current practices
  • communicate and encourage the use of our environmental policies, practices and initiatives to staff, working partners, stakeholders, clients and suppliers, and review them annually.
