Amy had a strong interest in getting work, but was struggling with anxiety issues. After a referral to CRS Australia, she was able to address these issues and see a brighter future.

Amy’s feelings of anxiety had only recently surfaced during Year 12. She found it hard to talk to people, she was reluctant to leave home and worried about how she would manage job interviews and employment.

CRS Australia provided her with guidance on job options, mock interviews and disability counselling/support. Amy was interested in jobs in retail and when an option for a job at Woolworths came up, she was keen but anxious.

CRS Australia Rehabilitation Consultant, Lisa, helped prepare Amy for an information session at Woolworths. ‘Amy was nervous but keen…I worked with her psychologist to help her prepare for the sessions,’ said Lisa.

Amy received good feedback from her first session at Woolworths and this boosted her confidence.

It also led to an on-the-job training opportunity at their Tea Tree Plaza store resulting in more positive feedback.

Soon after, Amy was offered a paid position and has now worked there for six months. ‘I feel good! It is a great environment to work in and I enjoy the social aspect. Work experience helped a lot,’ said Amy.

‘Amy is a bright and bubbly person and just needed this additional support to identify her strengths and learn how to manage her health relevant to employment,’ said Lisa.

Amy is now studying at Adelaide University while continuing to work. ‘I would definitely recommend CRS Australia to others; they personalise their service.’

‘I am now not only succeeding at work but also my study. I can manage my time better and feel more motivated about my future,’ said Amy.
