The injury management process

Most injured workers recover quickly and remain at work during the rehabilitation and return to work process.

Some workers require more assistance to return to work due to the severity of their injury and/or because of the nature of the work and their duties.

Following an injury, the injury management process requires prompt action by the employer, good communication and team work.

The injury management process is a team effort. The team includes:

  • the injured worker
  • a professional CRS Australia consultant (an approved rehabilitation provider)
  • the worker’s treating doctor
  • the return to work coordinator or agency case manager.

Once you engage CRS Australia to assist you with return to work, we will:

1 Contact you and the injured worker within 48 hours.
2 Arrange an assessment at the workplace within 3-5 days.
3 Contact the worker’s treating doctor to advise of the workplace assessment.
4 Develop a return to work plan at the workplace involving the worker, supervisor, employer and treating doctor.
5 Provide written documentation and return to work plan within 5 days of the assessment.
6 Determine the level of monitoring and support required to ensure a successful return to work outcome.
