Four state/territory winners nominated for the Prime Minister's Employer of the Year Awards

5 December 2005

Four of CRS Australia's 17 nominated employers were announced as state/territory winners at the 2005 Prime Minister's Employer of the Year Awards celebrated last night at Parliament House, Canberra.

Target Australia (ACT), Quality Traffic Management (WA), Kmart Wangaratta (VIC), and Ampol William Street (TAS) attended the Awards ceremony on Thursday 1 December, and were recognised for their significant contribution in providing opportunities for jobseekers with an injury, disability or health condition.

This impressive result demonstrates CRS Australia's commitment and success in working with businesses around Australia to place people with disabilities into employment.

'We are very proud of this result,' said Margaret Carmody, acting General Manager of CRS Australia. 'These Australian companies have demonstrated that employing people with a disability can be of benefit for organisations of all shapes and sizes.

'Employing people with a disability, injury or health condition makes good business sense. CRS Australia helps facilitate the process by providing employers with a free service to find motivated, hardworking staff that fit the business's unique requirements.

'The Awards recognise the vision and commitment of employers. They also acknowledge the hard work our dedicated rehabilitation and employment services consultants contribute in helping people who have an injury, disability or health condition find work or return to their job,' Ms Carmody said.

'As a result, such employees stay in their organisations longer, have lower incidence and absenteeism rates. That's good news for Australian businesses!'

CRS Australia is a national network assisting people with an injury, disability or health condition to find or keep a job and be more independent. As one of the largest providers of vocational rehabilitation and injury management and prevention services, CRS Australia has 176 offices across Australia.

Working closely with employers, CRS Australia is able to ensure that clients suggested for jobs are uniquely qualified to fit job requirements.
