CRS Australia works with Malaysian Government to introduce Return to Work program
29 January 2007
The Malaysian Government launched the Return to Work Program in Kuala Lumpur on Monday 15 January 2007, following an 18 month pilot program.
This pilot program was implemented based on cost/benefit research conducted by CRS Australia in September 2003.
The program focuses on returning injured staff to work through vocational rehabilitation for typical workplace injuries including physical, vision and heart conditions. The program will also improve productivity and workplace safety.
Minister for Human Resources Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chang Onn launched the program, recognising the case management advice and training provided by CRS Australia that enabled the program to commence.
CRS Australia General Manager Margaret Carmody met with Minister Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chang Onn, senior officials from the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) and members of the organisation's advisory board, before attending the Return to Work Program launch.
In December 2006, CRS Australia hosted Dr Azman and Mr Roshaimi, two senior officials from SOCSO. They observed various CRS Australia services including a Job Capacity Assessment and a Functional Capacity Evaluation in our offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
CRS Australia will continue to assist the Malaysian Government to ensure their program is successful.
