21 April 2010

Carl Princehorn, Deputy General Manager, CRS Australia, today officially opened CRS Australia’s new Lismore office.

The Lismore office relocated to Suite 2, 36-38 Conway Street to provide improved services and programs for people living in the Lismore region. In addition to delivering Disability Employment Services, the CRS Australia Lismore office provides a range of other valuable services such as return to work programs, ergonomic workstation assessments, manual handling training, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and OHS risk management and consultancy services.

The Lismore office has already placed 44 job seekers into jobs so far this financial year.

'CRS Australia has strong links with the local community, including community and health organisations, to ensure Lismore’s disability employment needs are met,’ said Carl Princehorn.

CRS Australia has also forged strong working relationships with local employers such as Kmart, Lismore.

Kmart Lismore has placed a number of CRS Australia job seekers into on-the-job training programs, giving them valuable experience working in the retail field.

‘We have hired a permanent part-time employee who started out on a CRS Australia on-the-job training program. She is a valued employee and is living proof that CRS Australia works,’ said Mr Jeff Staude, Store Manager.

Carl Princehorn explained, ‘The new office is located in Lismore’s CBD and provides ease of access to our employment services. We’re able to effectively cater for employers with staffing needs as well as our job seekers in their search for suitable jobs.

‘The new office provides more areas to work with our clients and features a large foyer with job seeking facilities.

‘CRS Australia has an expert team of consultants who work with job seekers to help them understand their strengths, obtain new skills and build their confidence so they are ready to enter employment and live independently’.

CRS Australia, formerly known as Commonwealth Rehabilitation Services, is part of the Australian Government Department of Human Services. It provides disability employment and assessment services to people with a disability, injury or health condition and recruitment, injury prevention and injury management services to employers.

CRS Australia believes a job is more than just employment: it provides hope, belonging, confidence and independence. Nationally, CRS Australia helps over 60,000 job seekers towards meaningful employment each year.Back to top
