CRS Australia helping job seekers in Hobart

17 February 2011

Carl Princehorn, Deputy General Manager, CRS Australia, today officially opened CRS Australia’s new Hobart office.

The Hobart office relocated to 159 Collins Street to provide improved services and programs for people living in the Hobart region. In addition to delivering Disability Employment Services, CRS Australia’s Hobart office provides a range of other valuable services such as return to work programs, ergonomic workstation assessments, manual handling training, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and OHS risk management and consultancy services.

CRS Australia’s Hobart office has already placed 111 job seekers into jobs this financial year. Last financial year the Hobart office placed 157 job seekers into employment.

‘CRS Australia has strong links with the local community, including health organisations, to ensure Hobart’s disability employment needs are met,’ said Carl Princehorn.

CRS Australia has also forged strong working relationships with local employers such as 4 Lunch, a local catering company.

4 Lunch has placed a number of CRS Australia job seekers into employment, giving them valuable experience working in the hospitality field.

‘Our company allows people to get back into work and see what they are capable of,’ said Trudi Steedman, Customer Care. ‘CRS Australia has taken the time to find out what we need—what are absolute musts for us when employing staff’.

Carl Princehorn explained, ‘The new office is centrally located in Hobart’s CBD and provides ease of access to our employment services. We’re able to effectively cater for employers with staffing needs as well as our job seekers in their search for suitable jobs.

'CRS Australia has an expert team of consultants who work with job seekers to help them understand their strengths, obtain new skills and build their confidence so they are ready to enter employment and live independently’.

CRS Australia is part of the Australian Government Department of Human Services. It provides disability employment and assessment services to people with a disability, injury or health condition and recruitment, injury prevention and injury management services to employers.

Celebrating our 70th birthday in 2011, CRS Australia continues to help almost 60,000 job seekers towards meaningful employment each year. CRS Australia believes a job is more than just employment: it provides hope, belonging, confidence and independence.
