A life changing experience
Scan Conversion Services (SCS) is a scanning bureau operating throughout Australia and New Zealand. They have been delivering highly effective document and drawing management solutions for 10 years.
SCS partnered with CRS Australia in April 2008 to offer on-the-job training and employment opportunities for people with a disability to develop their skills and experience and build confidence to obtain paid employment.
SCS and CRS Australia developed a pre-employment screening process that involves job seekers undertaking a vocational and physical assessment interview. Suitable job seekers are given on-the-job training with SCS and industry-specific skills development in a flexible working environment.
Richard, Manager Director of SCS says, ‘We’re pleased that we’ve been able to give these job seekers a hand to re-establish themselves in the workforce and that through CRS Australia we have found such quality people’.
Since April 2008, 35 CRS Australia job seekers with varying types of disabilities have commenced employment with SCS. All 35 job seekers have been employed by SCS in a casual, part-time or full-time capacity and 15 are still employed today.
'People who have come to us through CRS Australia are hardworking and motivated.'Richard, Scan Conversion Services
Richard says, ‘Our company only focuses on what people can do, not what they can’t do. People who have come to us through CRS Australia are hardworking, motivated, and have in turn helped us develop the safest possible work environment for everyone through assisting us with workplace safety initiatives’.
SCS’s commitment to giving people with a disability a job opportunity has been life changing for many. Having a job with SCS has given many job seekers independence, increased confidence and satisfaction, financial benefit and opportunities to learn.
SCS were awarded a 2009 Diversity@Work award for their commitment to providing employment opportunities for people with a disability.
